The DPA is here for all things Charlottesville as you acclimate to your new home in this wonderful city. With food and event guides, housing resources, job information, and frequent events, we’ll help you find what you’re looking for.

international

International DPA is focused on Darden Partners that come to the United States from overseas. Our goal is to help International Members become part of the local community, connect people from similar backgrounds, and establish connections with other international DPA partners currently at Darden and UVA. 

The International Committee organizes events that help international partners explore Charlottesville, assist with the visa orientation process, and help to find local English courses. Our program "Partners around the world" is designed to create an atmosphere of cultural diversity and acceptance. We encourage all our International Partners to help us learn more about their cultural customs.

With monthly happy hours, group workouts, evenings out, and more, the DPA Social Committee plans activities for everyone to enjoy! Meet other DPA members and learn about the Charlottesville area through our social events.
 

community service

Darden Partners are incredibly engaged in the Charlottesville community. From volunteering to organize community events, the Community Service committee coordinates monthly volunteer opportunities throughout the year. After volunteer events, we usually grab a bite to eat to get to know one another further. Volunteering with the DPA can be a great way to get to know fellow partners and give back to our community!

family

DPA Family is a group to support the partners and families of Darden students. We host family friendly events and encourage connections with other families allowing for extra support for those of us with the Darden family experience.

job resources

Finding a job in a new city can be intimidating. The DPA tries to help incoming and current partners find jobs at the many wonderful companies that call Charlottesville home. We send out a book of resumes for job-hunting DPA members to Charlottesville companies twice a year and can help you gain a better understanding of what the Charlottesville job market has to offer. Not looking for full-time employment? We can point you in the direction of temporary or part-time work such as babysitting, tutoring, or temping for the University. We can also help you find volunteer opportunities if you are unable to work and want to put your many talents to good use in our community.
